Diega de Castra (Pirano, 1907 \u2013 Roletto (To), 2003), ki je bil zapu\u0161\u010dinski daritvi skupnosti Italijanov \u201eGiuseppe Tartini\u201d, sestavlja zasebna knji\u017enica tega uglednega Pirana\u010dana z ve\u010dstransko osebnostjo, statisti\u010dnega, demografa, diplomata, zgodovinarja, urednika in zavzetega intelektualca. Gre za posebno zbirko ve\u010d kot 6000 naslovov, ki odra\u017ea njegova \u0161tevilna zanimanja in dejavnosti v \u010dasu njegovega dolgega \u017eivljenja. Precej\u0161en del gradiva sestavljajo knjige, revije, repertoriji in statisti\u010dni letopisi. Profesor je bil namre\u010d eden najve\u010djih italijanskih statistikov, predaval je na razli\u010dnih univerzah, med drugim v Torinu in Rimu. Ta del zapu\u0161\u010dine zdru\u017euje ve\u010dino tistega, kar je bilo objavljeno v tisku o vpra\u0161anju Trsta, njegovi diplomatski zgodovini in mejnih sporih na splo\u0161no. Kot raziskovalec nedavne preteklosti na\u0161e regije je de Castro potreboval obse\u017eno bibliografijo in zbirke tiskanih dokumentov.
